Clerics act as intermediaries between the earthly and the divine (or infernal) worlds. A good cleric helps those in need, while an evil cleric seeks to spread his patron's vision of evil across the world. All clerics can heal wounds and bring people back from the brink of death, and powerful clerics can even raise the dead. Likewise, all clerics have authority over undead creatures, and they can turn away or even destroy these creatures. Clerics are trained in the use of simple weapons, and can use all forms of armor and shields without penalty, since armor does not interfere with the casting of divine spells. In addition to his normal complement of spells, every cleric chooses to focus on two of his deity's domains. These domains grant the cleric special powers, and give him access to spells that he might otherwise never learn.
Narfell is set in the Forgotten Realms, where clerics are required to represent a patron deity from the official books. Because we are a roleplaying server, your character will be expected to advance their deity's dogma. You'll find a wealth of information on Forgotten Realms deities online.
In respect to your character, taking levels of cleric means you have selected a deity for your character and cleric domains that correspond to eachother.
You can reference our listing of approved cleric domains by deity in the article.
To validate your cleric, please seek a spiritual advisor. One is present in the new character lobby. Ask a DM to find a Spiritual Advisor if you are above level 4.
Clerics with the Animal Domain can replace the default Polymorph Self options with animals that the PC is able to find and dominate. This will only work from the quickslot bars, NOT from the radial menu.
On your quickslot, select the shape you wish to replace. The cursor will now indicate you find a target: select a friendly animal or an animal you've dominated. You should receive a message about the availability of that shape. If you are successful, you will transform into the animal shape you just saved whenever you target yourself with that specific quickslotted shape.
To reset the shape to the default: click on the quickslot for the specific shape and target the ground. You should receive a message if you are successful.
